“PRINCESS OF PAIN” by Alan Merrill

You’ve been caught up in a seduction scene
Getting around not knowing where you’ve been
Now you’re down and saying help me please
But you can’t get up on your shaky knees
It’s a hard world

Nobody learns until they trip and fall
And until then they think they know it all
Some say you were sexy and maybe kind of sweet
Trying to walk and you can’t find your feet

It’s a hard world
I’ll give you good advice
Don’t push your luck
‘Cos luck won’t save you twice

It’s all over now my princess of pain

You started out all right but messed your brain
Put all your confidence in base cocaine
It’s a hard world

I’ll give you good advice
Don’t push your luck
‘Cos luck won’t save you twice
It’s all over now

My princess of pain
It’s all over now my princess of pain
It’s all over now my princess of pain

At the tender young age of ten years old, Ilya Falchevsky began his journey experimenting with structures and composition. His obsession was born from collecting a cornucopia of street materials and rare urban objects which would become one of his many experiments in sculptural and photo art.

Even then, Ilya understood that investing in such an abundance of street material was not a wasted effort, as these items of found scrap would help him realise his inner world through the prism of his unbounded vision and expression. This was inevitably influenced by the reality surrounding human nature.

Ilya created his own universe which has since expanded into a macrocosm of new galaxies, laden with infinite artistic possibilities through his light box installations, sculpture, music and photography. He discovered that these presented a portal to a particular moment relating to his mental state. These would provide a piece of that very moment. This, in turn, would be recorded in a special projection chiffonier in a process akin to unique ritualistic initiation through life lessons, luck and mistakes, he continues to gain knowledge which feeds into his works.

To date, Ilya had a number of successful private and group exhibitions in both Riga, New York and London.
