Paper Collage portrait with cello tape, 2017 Madrid.
Prints are printed on Hahnemühle smooth photo rag 300g paper
This is a collage made with color prints form mens magazines, dust and cello tape.
The original measurements are 23 x 31 cm. This is the portrait of a man who lives a double life, the one being in contradiction with the second.
The colorful composition contrasts with the disturbing message that emerges from it: we see a smiling man with the masked gaze of an abstract composition. On one side, a white square on his neck – reference point of the whole composition – evokes a priest. On the other side, there are his naked tattooed chest and sexy underwear put forward and all those elements together produce some ambiguity and discomfort: This work portraits people who hide a secret personality.
You may see dust and weft of the prints used. this is intended and is part of the original work. However, the printable version have been retouched by the artist to erase some unwanted elements.
